“All done”, I said to Sudipt (founder and director of Shaadi Stress Ltd, www.shaadistress.com) sitting behind me, when I finished my first post. A few chuckles later, I agreed that I would post weekly updates to the blog. I should have known better.
Its now 29th September and the chances are this next post doesn’t even get posted today!
Going back a few months, the first thing once I had found a .com with the company name I wanted was to purchase that and its corresponding .co.uk TLD too. Next step was the all important business plan and after I was half-way through, the PCO licence had to come next as I was aware it would take some time for it to actually come through.
Before long, the company bank account was opened with HSBC. By this time, I had also tendered my resignation at Barclays Commercial Bank and was free by the end of March. With Cruti (my wife) pregnant, it was nice to be able to spend more time with her too.
There was a lot of to’ing and fro’ing when deciding to quit the day job – and had been under serious consideration for probably 4-5 months before I handed the letter in. The primary contributor to the ultimate decision had to be fellow entrepreneur and now colleague, Sudipt Shah. Countless lunches and cappuccinos later, and egging each other on, the decisions were made (he took a little more convincing – he is getting married in less than 2 weeks though!).
Fast forward to the present day, Cruti and I have a lovely little boy, Arav – our pride and joy. Time has no meaning when playing with him or simply observing as he discovers the new world around him. Coupled with his growth is that of our fledgling businesses.
Leading Route Ltd now has two businesses underneath the banner, Leading Route Cars (www.leadingroutecars.com – now in its fourth website iteration) and Leading Route Properties (www.leadingrouteproperties.com). The latter will be a Property Investment business and may have sales and lettings operating within it too – I haven’t really decided yet. The plan is to bring all our investment properties (6 and counting) into the company at some stage too.
At the moment, however the website acts as a Home Information Pack provider.
