I can’t believe my boy is two!

Even though my son turned 2 last week and even though we celebrated with a toddlers party on the weekend, I can’t believe he’s grown up so fast.

My wife and I were looking through some of Arav’s old photos, some were just from eight months ago, but the change is staggering.

Often when I’m looking at the decision to start a business and leaving the relative safe confines of a cushy city job, I don’t question the motivation, but sometimes I do wonder if the timing was right.  But I’m left with one overriding thought – which is that had I still been at Barclays, my flexibility to take afternoons or mornings off at short notice would have been severely restricted.  Weekends may have been less busy though – as when you’re running your own business, the weekend just means you’re working from home.  In fact, it took a few seconds to wonder what people on Facebook were talking about when they talked about having 12 days off during the recent double bank-holiday weeks.

Anyway, I’ve been side-tracked.

Sometimes I wish Arav would stop growing so fast – I need longer to savour and enjoy his little mannerisms and other cute & funny things he does.  Even though I get excited when he learns something new, there are some things he used to do that he’s outgrown.  Its only when Cruti and I look back on photos and video clips that we remember.

I guess its just another stage of life that we go through as parents – feeling all sorts of emotions all at the same time.

Have you been through this yet?  If you’re not a parent yet, what do you think you’ll be like when you’re lil one hits two?
